Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or family members.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, or read to clients to reduce feelings of isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with light cleaning tasks in the client's home, such as laundry, meal preparation, and dishwashing.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments, social activities, or shopping trips as needed.
- Observation: Monitor the client's physical and emotional condition and document any concerns in the daily care log.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a CNA, PCA, or Home Health Aide is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- License: Current CNA certification or HHA certificate is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Reliability: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and a patient, caring demeanor.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
