Responsibilities
- Assist with Daily Living: Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Patient Monitoring: Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes or concerns to the nursing supervisor.
- Medication Management: Assist with medication reminders and ensure clients take their prescribed medications on time.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in conversation and recreational activities.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social activities as needed.
- Personal Care: Provide personal hygiene support, including toileting and incontinence care, in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs of patient care activities and incidents.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; CNA or Home Health Aide certification is a plus but not always required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, nursing, or caregiving is preferred.
- Valid License: Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.
- Health Requirements: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and TB test.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and physical stamina.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
