Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Companionship: Build meaningful relationships through conversation, shared activities, and emotional support to reduce isolation.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client’s physical or mental condition to the registered nurse or supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, bed making, and cleaning, to ensure a safe living environment.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and assist with administration where licensed.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, and community outings.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Certification: Current Oregon CNA or PCA certification is preferred; home health aide certification is a plus.
- Health Requirements: Valid CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for caregiving.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods and assist clients with mobility.
