Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures and minor treatments
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen processing
- Manage patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance in all documentation
- Coordinate patient flow and optimize clinic efficiency
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a fast-paced medical environment
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume setting
- Valid CPR certification and current immunization records
- California state medical assistant certification (if applicable)
