Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during procedures
- Accurately document patient information and maintain electronic health records
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Perform basic lab tests, EKGs, and phlebotomy procedures
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Inventory and stock medical supplies while maintaining a clean, organized workspace
Qualifications
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic or Athena Health preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Tennessee state medical assistant license
