Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and collect specimens
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments and handle insurance verification processes
- Perform basic lab tests and phlebotomy services
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active CMA certification from AAMA or NHA
- Minimum 2 years' experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Valid DC medical assistant license
