Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Perform accurate vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests (e.g., fingersticks, urinalysis).
- Manage patient records and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems promptly and accurately.
- Schedule patient appointments, send reminders, and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and resolve concerns efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or RMA) required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
