Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns, drapes, and positioning, and by talking with them.
- Perform basic patient care tasks, including taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and recording information in electronic medical records.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including drawing blood, administering injections, and setting up equipment.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, sterilize equipment, and prepare treatment rooms for patient visits.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
