Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, operating wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment safely.
- Assist the nursing staff with wound care, feeding, and medication reminders as directed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patient care in accordance with facility protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and active state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and registration.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility.
