Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating) with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Health Status: Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any changes in patient condition to the RN or LPN immediately.
- Assist with Medical Procedures: Support the nursing staff with wound care, catheter care, and medication reminders as directed.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and care plans in accordance with facility protocols.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- License & Certification: Active and current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Colorado.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and maneuver patients weighing up to 200 lbs as needed.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
