Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure, record, and report patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and move patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Medication Support: Under the supervision of an RN, prepare medications and administer treatments as prescribed.
- Emotional Support: Offer compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their care journey.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and shift reports.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety standards to ensure a sterile environment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and current California CNA License (or eligibility to obtain).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, assisted living, or home health setting is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy and the ability to work well in a diverse, fast-paced team environment.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills for electronic charting and documentation.
