Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Vitals: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Assistance: Prepare and administer medications as directed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring proper documentation.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, reporting changes in patient condition immediately.
- Mobility Support: Assist patients with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-free environment for all patients and staff.
- Charting: Complete accurate and timely electronic health record documentation for all care provided.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active California CNA license.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Compassion: Empathetic attitude towards patients and families facing challenging health situations.
