Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and report any abnormalities to the nursing supervisor.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Administer medication and perform basic treatments as directed by the RN or Physician.
- Observe and document changes in a patient's physical or mental condition, reporting significant findings immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift patients weighing up to 250 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
