Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during procedures
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care testing
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Manage patient records using EHR systems (Epic/Meditech experience preferred)
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure exam rooms are stocked
- Collect and process lab specimens
- Provide patient education on treatment plans
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (AAMA, NCMA, or AMT)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient/urgent care setting
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and EKG procedures
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Valid Washington DC healthcare worker license
