Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance to ensure patient dignity and hygiene.
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Communicate changes in patient condition, mood, or behavior to the nursing staff and physicians in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for medical procedures, exams, or treatments and assist during the process.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities and intake and output records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana CNA License required (copy of license must be provided).
- CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association) is mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs safely.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
