Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics.
- Communicate patient status changes and concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Louisiana CNA license.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred.
- Strong compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods.
