Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely in and out of bed, wheelchairs, and walkers to prevent falls.
- Maintain Records: Document patient care activities, updates, and changes in condition in accordance with facility standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient status.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to all hygiene protocols and safety regulations to ensure a clean environment.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with feeding and monitor dietary restrictions and intake.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Must hold a valid and current Certified Nursing Assistant license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills with a patient-centered approach and the ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
