Responsibilities
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Patient Hygiene: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure dignity and comfort.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients in taking prescribed medications as directed by nursing staff.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in electronic health systems (EHR).
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the nursing team.
- Environment Maintenance: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid CNA license issued by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA certification from an accredited program preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed; good vision and hearing.
- Attitude: A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to teamwork and safety protocols.
