Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Provide direct care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always maintaining patient dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Mobility Support: Assist patients with ambulation and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment safely.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized patient rooms and common areas in accordance with hygiene protocols.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient concerns, changes in condition, and daily status updates to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their stay.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities and observations in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Current CNA certification preferred; willing to obtain certification if currently in school.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and strong verbal communication skills.
- Attributes: Empathy, patience, attention to detail, and a strong desire to help others.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus but not mandatory.
