Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals according to specific dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Turn, reposition, and move patients safely to prevent bedsores and ensure patient comfort.
- Communicate changes in a patient’s behavior, mood, or physical condition to the charge nurse or supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment for patients and staff.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks in patient rooms and common areas.
Qualifications
- Current State of Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License and current auto insurance (for facility travel).
- Physical stamina to lift, push, and stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Strong compassion, patience, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic charting and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
