Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Provide basic personal hygiene care and ensure patient rooms are clean and safe.
- Assist patients with mobility, including walking and transferring, using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Feed patients according to their dietary requirements and assist with meal preparation when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately in electronic medical records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; CNA Certification preferred but not required for entry-level candidates (training provided).
- Valid State of Ohio CNA license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with lifting and moving patients.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compassionate nature with a strong desire to help others.
