Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any significant changes to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs and assisting with ambulation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and facility protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual patient needs.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA Certification issued by the State of Texas (out-of-state licenses considered with reciprocity).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to show empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred for on-call coverage).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
