Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any significant changes to the Registered Nurse immediately.
  • Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them safely from beds to wheelchairs and assisting with ambulation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and facility protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual patient needs.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered CNA Certification issued by the State of Texas (out-of-state licenses considered with reciprocity).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to show empathy, patience, and compassion.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred for on-call coverage).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
