Responsibilities
- Patient Care Assistance: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report any abnormalities to the RN.
- Comfort & Hygiene: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and properly positioned to prevent skin breakdown.
- Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and families, communicating needs and concerns to the nursing staff effectively.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, logs, and charts in compliance with state regulations.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely assist patients with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs) using proper body mechanics.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: No prior healthcare experience required; however, candidates must be willing to complete state-required CNA certification training.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and patience when interacting with the elderly or disabled.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills; ability to read and write in English.
- Background Check: Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screening.
