Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and safe by providing appropriate linens and maintaining a tidy environment.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to report changes in patient conditions or concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and logs regarding care provided and patient observations.
- Assistance: Support patients with mobility issues, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs safely.
- Hydration & Nutrition: Monitor fluid intake and assist patients with meal times to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required; completion of an accredited CNA program is preferred.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and walking frequently.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Compassion: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others in a healthcare setting.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen as part of the hiring process.
