Responsibilities

  • Patient Care Assistance: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Hygiene & Comfort: Provide support with mobility, transfer patients safely using proper techniques, and ensure patients remain clean and comfortable throughout their stay.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, effectively communicating patient needs and concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient logs in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Environment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and assist in emergency situations as directed by nursing supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program preferred.
  • Certification: Current, unencumbered CNA license issued by the state of Ohio required.
  • Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification is required prior to start date.
  • Experience: Entry-level candidates with no prior experience are welcome; on-the-job training provided.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
