Responsibilities

  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
  • Monitor Health Status: Observe and report any changes in patient condition, including vital signs, to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and mobility aids to prevent injury.
  • Maintain Hygiene: Change bed linens, assist with oral care, and maintain a clean and sanitary patient environment.
  • Document Care: Accurately record patient care activities, intake/output, and any incidents in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Communicate Effectively: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure cohesive care plans.
  • Support Medical Procedures: Prepare and serve meals, assist with wound care, and support nurses during procedures.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current, unencumbered Washington State CNA license.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA training program is a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
