Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report any changes in patient conditions, vital signs, or behavior to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Daily Living: Help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Move and Lift Patients: Safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Administer Care: Prepare and serve meals, ensure patients are fed properly, and maintain hygiene in patient rooms.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team, relaying important information accurately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in the electronic health record system.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program is preferred for entry-level roles.
- Certification: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required (or willingness to obtain certification within 3 months).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for patient care and a strong desire to help others.
- Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with computer systems is a plus.
