Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) accurately.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or needs to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Illinois CNA certification or willingness to obtain one immediately.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic charting.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- CPR certification preferred but not mandatory.
