Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide compassionate care by helping patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Communication & Reporting: Observe patient changes and promptly report any concerns to the nursing staff or physicians.
- Hygiene & Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients and ensure proper infection control standards.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and pulling patients and medical equipment.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
