Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and the use of walkers or wheelchairs to ensure patient safety and prevent falls.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems and patient charts.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care and address concerns.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and safety standards at all times.
- Administer medication as directed by the RN or LPN within scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Current and active State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for immediate hire candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
