Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming in a compassionate and respectful manner.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure patients maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, including proper linens and waste disposal.
- Communication: Serve as a vital link between patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing updates on patient status and concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and care logs in compliance with HIPAA regulations and agency policies.
- Meal Assistance: Aid patients during meal times, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration while respecting dietary restrictions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered Oregon State CNA license required.
- Training: Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is a plus but not required for immediate hire candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment as needed; ability to stand for extended periods.
