Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Patient Status: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and mobilize patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in accordance with facility policies.
- Communicate Effectively: Relay important information regarding patient conditions and needs to nurses, physicians, and families.
- Ensure Safety: Respond promptly to call lights and emergency situations following established safety protocols.
- Support Activities: Engage patients in light activities and socialization to promote mental well-being.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current and unencumbered North Carolina State CNA license.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, and stoop as required for patient care.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to show empathy, patience, and respect for patients of all ages.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
