Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any abnormalities to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with mobility and patient transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and feeding schedules.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment by following infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the state of Georgia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and assisting with patient transfers.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.
