Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist nurses with medical procedures, treatments, and therapeutic exercises.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies within the unit.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New York State (NYS) Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient dignity and privacy.
