Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist registered nurses and physicians with medical procedures, treatments, and patient transfers using proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment in accordance with hospital hygiene standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the wider healthcare team regarding patient conditions and care plans.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
