Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Provide basic bedside care and emotional support to patients and their families during hospital stays.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and mobility aids to prevent injury.
- Communicate effectively with RNs, LPNs, and physicians regarding patient needs and updates.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA License issued by the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Clean background check and drug screening required prior to employment.
