Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of RNs and LPNs, including wound care and hygiene assistance.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and emergency situations, following safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid and current California CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License in good standing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Arrhythmia recognition.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed (up to 50 lbs) with proper body mechanics.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in using computerized medical records systems.
