Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities immediately to nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, acting as a bridge between medical staff and loved ones.
- Document patient care plans, symptoms, and daily progress accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Assist registered nurses with medical procedures, wound care, and preparing examination rooms for patient visits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, ensuring timely assistance is provided at all times.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of Tennessee.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical personnel.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed throughout the shift.
- Compassionate nature and the ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations.
