Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, as directed by nursing staff.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients according to established sanitation and infection control policies.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or concerns to the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse immediately.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
Qualifications
- Current and active State of Tennessee CNA Certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient advocacy.
