Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients are kept clean and comfortable, and assist with range-of-motion exercises as directed by the nursing staff.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including daily logs and shift reports, in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition or needs to Registered Nurses and other healthcare team members.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid New York State (NYS) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and transfer patients, and perform physical tasks as needed.
