Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs and behavioral changes, to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide compassionate assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient intake and output, vital signs, and daily care activities in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety standards to prevent hospital-acquired infections and ensure a safe environment.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the medical team, effectively communicating patient needs and concerns.
- Medication Assistance: Support the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid CNA license issued by the State of California.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as well as stand for extended periods.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
