Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and assisting with mobility to ensure the highest level of comfort and hygiene.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) and interdisciplinary care team.
- Assistance: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide support during procedures as directed by nursing staff.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts in compliance with facility protocols.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and follow proper safety protocols.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current and valid State of Florida CNA Certification required.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
