Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide basic wound care and change dressings under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Document patient care activities and changes in patient condition accurately and timely.
- Transport patients using wheelchairs or stretchers safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- CPR (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
