Job Overview
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving the lives of our patients. As a CNA at CareFirst Chicago, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care possible.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to patients, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in patient rooms and common areas to prevent infection and ensure patient comfort.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring patients receive proper nutrition and hydration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Illinois.
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
