Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and ensure medical equipment is sanitized.
- Document patient progress, changes in condition, and any incidents according to hospital protocols.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Colorado State CNA Certification and license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly preferred.
