Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates regularly.
- Assistance with Medical Procedures: Support nurses and physicians with procedures, specimen collection, and medication administration under supervision.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff and families.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in the electronic health record system.
- Environment Maintenance: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of Texas.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
