Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing personnel, following all safety guidelines.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients during their hospital stay.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the state of Kentucky.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not required for immediate hires.
- Commitment to professional standards, HIPAA compliance, and patient privacy.
