Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, including changing linens and assisting with mobility.
- Communication: Serve as a vital communication link between patients, families, and the nursing staff, reporting changes in patient condition immediately.
- Assistance with Procedures: Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures, and assist licensed nurses with treatments and specimen collection.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered CNA license issued by the District of Columbia Department of Health (or Maryland/VA reciprocity if applicable).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program preferred.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is highly preferred for this immediate hire role.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
