Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct, compassionate care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Mobility Assistance: Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, changes in condition, and communication with the nursing team.
- Medication Support: Assist with the administration of medications and treatments as directed and supervised by licensed nursing staff.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and safe; respond promptly to patient call lights and requests for assistance.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active California CNA Certification (CNA I) required.
- CPR/BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical, hospital, or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients up to 50 lbs; ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Compassion: Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
