Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Patient Status: Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or physical appearance to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Medical Procedures: Support nurses with vital signs monitoring, medication reminders, and basic wound care as directed.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure the patient's room and surroundings are clean, clutter-free, and safe from hazards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient care activities and intake/output in electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred. Completion of a state-approved CNA training program is required.
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Ohio is mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a desire to help those in need.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
